"The nanotube has the property of self-assembly from a single cell, meaning it can form a thin layer on substrates for faster and more efficient fabrication," explains coauthor Dr. Andrew M. Shoup (Georgia Institute of Technology). "The nanotube is a promising material to study because the technology is simple, easy to manufacture, and has very low temperature production," explains coauthor Dr. Matthew R. Haffner (Arizona State University).

To increase the material's flexibility in forming a layer, co-author Dr. Brian D. Zagacki (Michigan State University) developed a method of selectively changing the molecular structure of the nanotube from a single monolayer to multiple monolayers. This allows scientists to perform an array of experiments, from stacking different layers on top of each other to testing different nanotubes in different conditions.

"The development of multi-layer technology is rapidly moving away from the traditional manufacturing approach and towards a hybrid of materials," explains coauthor Dr. Michael P. Torg, (University of British Columbia). "In our work, we demonstrate that we can manufacture a multi-layer material with a single crystalline crystal and apply it in single-celled nanobotanics applications."

While this nanotechnology material is far from being ready for mass production, the researchers believe that it has potential to revolutionize a variety of complex nanotechnologies in various applications, from small devices for applications beyond medicine and medical sensing technologies to high-performance electronics. In collaboration with researchers from various academia and industry groups, they also propose the development of a commercial high-performance microfluidic system that would use a nanotube assembly and could potentially be used in applications such as biomedical devices, bioreactors and other devices.

The reality is that a group of investors have been buying up companies at a rate of at least 100 a minute and now they have 20,000 shares worth $20,000 a day (from 3 months back in the day) and they want to buy. I suspect they think this will generate more shares than the qantas-ownership price (and more like 100 or 400 a year).
